System

The Makerspace Autonomous Robot is a ROS 2-based mobile robotics platform. The system combines onboard edge compute with LiDAR and stereo vision for autonomous-robot development.

  • Jetson Orin Nano for onboard compute.
  • RPLiDAR A1 for range sensing.
  • ZED 2i for vision.
  • ROS 2 as the robotics software framework.

My contribution

I led the hardware-integration side of the project: power distribution, motor drivers, wiring, and chassis assembly. In the IEEE RAS electrical-lead role, I also designed and soldered circuit boards, managed the robot’s data bus and power wiring, developed Teensy firmware, and worked on ROS nodes for control.
